Come on out and join us for some sushi, sake and sounds! Dinner and a show all rolled up into one, like a sushi roll. Or if you're not in the mood for a sushi roll, you can always get the pictured Ikura with a quail egg. Simple, elegant, and delicious. Oh, and don't forget about the sake and Sapporo beer. Music sounds better and sushi tastes better with both!
The main feature of our restaurant truly is our sushi bar. While most of us are accustomed to sitting at a regular table at most other restaurants, we truly want to encourage you to take a seat at our sushi bar any chance you get. You'll get personalized service plus you can build a rapport with our awesomely talented sushi chefs. The more they get to know what you like, the more they'll be able to make recommendations to you in the future. Plus, you'll probably always get your food faster than anyone else in the restaurant.

It's Fish Fridays! It is lent so it is the perfect day to come on in for some fresh sushi! We have all the usual line ups as well as many different specials that change all the time. You have to come in to see what they are. In the meantime, rest assured that we will always have a fresh inventory of the usual suspects, such as the ones pictured. Thought we were in the middle of winter? Why is it in the 80s? Only in Southern California. In any case, we'd like to remind you a little bit about winter with our Snowman Roll. There's nothing cold or wintery about it, though. It's called the Snowman Roll because it's has a snow crab mix in the middle of it. Also has a shrimp tempura in the middle with a soy paper on the outside. It's actually good any time of the year and with any type of sushi eater, especially sushi virgins who still can't eat raw fish. Because there isn't any in this roll.
We love Iichiko and you should, too! Just to clarify, it's not a sake or a soju, as many might mistaken. It's a Japanese shochu, which is traditionally distilled from sweet potato, barley, rice, and other ingredients. Sake is fermented and is typically not as high in alcohol content. So be careful with Iichiko! It will sneak up on you. It's also considered a higher quality than soju, which is much more popular and mass produced. Drink your Iichiko with a little bit of tea, preferably oolong tea or a soda water and some lemon juice.
What's in our Volcano Roll? It's a spicy tuna roll topped with tempura rock shrimp and dressed with a basil oil. We don't use basil oil very often but we find that it complements the tempura rock shrimp very well. This is definitely not your typical basic sushi roll. It's got some different flavors and textures going that are not found in traditional sushi rolls. Why is it called a Volcano Roll? Because it's erupting with flavors and they all kinda look like a group of volcano islands sushi bites. Yeah, that's the best description for them. Volcano islands sushi bites.
We are nothing without our sushi chefs! They are all hard-working, talented, and eager to please all of our customers. They don't hide behind in the kitchen. They're out, front and center, for all who enter our restaurant. So you get to see who is preparing your food and you can actually see them prepare your food right in front of you. If you come often enough, our sushi chefs will know what you like and will suggest similar items that you might like in the future. That's what happens when you build a rapport with our sushi chefs.
It's always on our Happy Hour menu and it's often overlooked. Our Salmon Skin Salad is a great complement to any meal with us. And during Happy Hour, it's only $3.99. Happy Hour is all day on Mondays and Tuesdays and on all other days from 2pm till 5pm. Our Salmon Skin Salad comes with a nice combination of mixed greens along with strips of crispy salmon skin and then dressed with a ponzu based dressing. It's quite tasty and light, and goes well with fish and rice, if you know what we mean.
We're at the tail end of January so it's time to see how everyone has been doing on their new year's resolutions. It's always a big topic at the beginning of the year and then it fades away and everyone usually drops their resolutions. We want you to be healthier. We want you to eat more fish, obviously. Come on in and we'll help you keep those resolutions of eating more healthy. Ask our awesome sushi chefs to whip up a platter like this one and you'll be all set. Yummy overload and it's good for you!
Come on by Sushi World every 3rd Wednesday for the latest edition of b.eats! From 6pm till 9pm, DJ Ryan Live, DJ Ayebert, and DJ A1 will all be in the mix in the restaurant. Don't worry. They won't disrupt your dining experience. They're only there to enhance your dining experience. Dinner and a show all in one. They will be spinning that feel good vibes so if you don't have any plans for the night, come on by and eat some awesome sushi, drink some fine sake, and listen to the sounds of b.eats.
It's Happy Hour all day on Mondays & Tuesdays! Stop on by for a pitcher of Sapporo beer. It's only $10 during Happy Hour, which is also everyday from 2pm till 5pm, even on the weekends. What else is on our awesome Happy Hour menu? $2.50 sushi, $2.50 sake, and $3.50 appetizers. Plenty to choose from and plenty to enjoy. And it won't break your bank. For those of you enjoying a day off in honor of MLK, you should most definitely come in and spend the whole day with us.
Yep, we have an Atlantic Dragon Roll but not Pacific Dragon Roll. Seems kinda odd, considering we're right next to the Pacific. Do dragons not exist in the Pacific? Must be so. Anyway, our Atlantic Dragon Roll features a center of salmon, cucumber, and avocado. It's topped with peppered salmon, a slice of serrano pepper, red onions, and then lightly dressed with a ponzu sauce. If you like salmon, this is the roll for you. You get it on the inside and out! Come on in and try out all of our dragon rolls!
We don't hold back when we give you a serving of Ikura. That's how much we love it and that's how much we know you'll love it. For those that don't know, Ikura is salmon roe. It has a very distinct taste, like a nice sharp salty flavor. The best part is when they burst in your mouth as you're eating them. They go well with a lot of other sushi dishes but we often get them as is because they're just as enjoyable on their own. Get a few orders today to see what we're talking about. It'll soon become one of your sushi favorites.
Life is full of decisions. We want to make them as easy as possible for you when you visit us. We always recommend our patrons fill out our sushi forms but if you come enough, our sushi chefs will know what you like and will prepare them accordingly. If the restaurant isn't too busy, you can even yell out your orders to our awesome, professional sushi chefs. So choose wisely and choose fish. Lots of it. You can't go wrong with that. There are plenty other things in your life that you should worry about. Like your New Year's resolutions.
Here we go again. The best Happy Hour in all of Orange County is all day on Mondays and Tuesdays and it's the best way to get every work week started. Why let the good times of the weekends come to an end just because you have to get back to work? Come on in and enjoy $2.50 sushi, $3.50 appetizers, $2.50 sake, $10 Sapporo pitchers, and a bunch of other Happy Hour specials. You can worry about work later. For now, just enjoy our Happy Hour. If you don't make it in at any time on Mondays and Tuesdays, come in on any other day from 2pm till 5pm.
We often neglect how great our Ikura is so we're going to give some special attention to it the next couple of weeks. As we do with everything on our menu, we go out of our way to find the best quality products at the most reasonable prices so that we can pass on to you quality sushi and Japanese cuisine that is delicious and affordable. If you're not already an Ikura fan, you should try it out. It's quite delightful on its own or when it's used to help garnish one of our other plates.
Our Baked Mussels always hit the spot because they're so simple and so full of flavor. We take some mussels, top it with our special Japanese aioli, bake them, and then top them with some masago and green onions. We always get an order or two or three every time we sit down for a meal at Sushi World. It's good to have a mixture of some cooked items with your sushi so this is always a great choice.
Every 3rd Wednesday, come on by and enjoy the evening sounds of another session of b.eats from 6pm till 9pm. Get some sushi and some sake and sit back and relax as DJs Ryan Live, Ayebert, and A1 perform a session for Union Radio Station. In case you're wondering what's in the image, that's a Tekka Maki, a classic sushi roll of just tuna, rice, and seaweed. It's a basic roll but sushi sometimes needs to be basic. It doesn't always have to be complicated with too many contrasting tastes. Try it out to start your meal tonight!
